My Podcast: A Love-Hate Relationship
So, I have this podcast. And honestly? People seem to love it. I get a lot of compliments — but between you and me, I think it’s kind of lame. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate every nice comment, but I know what goes on behind the curtain. It’s just me. All me. I record, edit, produce, promote, make the music, design the graphics — literally everything. And with everything else I juggle daily, it’s tough to keep up with it the way I’d like to.
Funny thing is, my first taste of podcasting came way back in my late teens, during the summer before college. I was on a little horror podcast with a few friends. It didn’t last long, but it was a blast — creepy sound effects, bad jokes, and all. That experience is what made me eventually start my own podcast about phone sex. It’s a mix of conversation about the industry, a few tongue-in-cheek “commercials,” and then I drop in some erotic audio clips for the guys to enjoy. You can probably guess what kind of “enjoyment” I mean.
Now, is it groundbreaking work? Not at all. It’s messy and sometimes awkward — but I love the creative parts. I love editing, layering sounds, making the little audio transitions, building the vibe. The part I hate? Talking to myself. It’s hard to keep a natural flow when you’re literally sitting alone, whispering naughty thoughts into a microphone. I’ve tried recruiting a co-host before, but my friend bailed — she’s the paranoid type who doesn’t want her voice out there floating on the internet forever. So… solo I remain.
What’s wild is, even though I think my show is pretty basic, the numbers don’t lie. I’ve had episodes hit thousands of listens — one even has over 68,000. Every time I check the stats, I laugh and think, “Really? That episode?” Apparently, my lame little podcast isn’t so lame after all.
I’ve got so many ideas for future episodes — deeper topics, more polished erotic stories, maybe even some collaborations. I’d love to start featuring original erotic audio stories written just for the show. The problem? Time and funding. Between my blogs, my business, and my life, there aren’t enough hours in the day to do it all.
So, here’s my open invitation: if you’re a writer, audio editor, or creative who wants to collaborate — or you just have a sexy voice and a good sense of humor — reach out through my contact page. I’d love to hear from you. Maybe together we can turn my “lame little podcast” into something spectacular.
